Topic > The Enron Scandal - 802

The Enron Scandal was mostly about how these people, who were supposed to be the smartest people in the world, made so much money grow in a public company by lying and stealing money from customers . The company has used so many ways to boost its stock and try to keep it there. They tried way beyond what they could do and the company failed and eventually collapsed when Jeff Skilling resigned as CEO and chairman of Enron. The former CEO of Enron was born on November 25, 1953 in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jeff Skilling graduated from Harvard and Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree and an MBA from Harvard University. Since Enron started he started working there and became the COO of Enron which will soon lead him to become famous as the CEO and Chairman of Enron. When he graduated from Harvard he worked for McKinsey in a company that carried out energy and chemical consulting practices which soon led him to work at Enron, where he was hired by Kenneth Lay. Jeff Skilling had a pretty well-rounded life that led to him becoming a well-known person working for Enron and being the president of that company. When Kenneth Lay hired Jeff Skilling from McKinsey, he made him president and CEO of Enron because of the good qualities he showed at his old company. In the year 1991, Jeff Skilling became the president of the gas company Enron, which slowly led to the year 1997 where he then became the CEO and president of Enron. It was then that he pushed for a good investment strategy that would make the Enron company popular and able to make money eventually if this strategy worked. This strategy helps... middle of paper... would be useless if it wasn't for him, but Kenneth Lay also made the right decision by putting Jeff Skilling on a staff that will lead him to be very successful in the end. Enron was one of the biggest scandals that a bunch of smart people working in that company made this company a great success even though it eventually collapsed and sent the employees down with the money but no matter what this company has made billions and made investors spend a lot of money on them because they are the smartest people in the world who were ultimately combined to create a great company.
