The Maze Runner by James Dashner is about a group of teenage boys who race against time to solve a seemingly impossible maze, while also trying to stay alive as they try to figure it out . their past. As the plot develops, friendships are tested to the maximum. Their fight until the end proves that with teamwork anything can be achieved and it is always better to work together. This theme is shown throughout the book, such as when Thomas went out into the maze to find Minho and Alby while knowingly breaking number one. rule in the Glade (109). He sacrificed his own reputation and safety to help his friends. Once inside the maze, Thomas and Minho refuse his help saying "And what do we need you for?" [Break rule number one, kill yourself] (113), after realizing that if they did nothing all three of them would have no chance of surviving.
