Topic > My Path to Neuroscience - 1332

As a teenager I discovered that life is a subjective experience that can be viewed from many perspectives. In an effort to open my mind to different worldviews, I made a plan to take flying lessons and completed extensive flight training as well as specialized courses in physics, mechanics, and meteorology to obtain my private pilot's license before completing the degree course. school. I have always enjoyed taking on challenges and flying planes myself at a young age helped me develop a level of confidence, maturity and motivation. When I think about the structure of the human brain, it is as sublime a feeling as flying above the Earth wondering “How do such vast and complex natural phenomena occur?” I found flying to be a fun hobby, but it didn't satiate my intellectual curiosity. As an undergraduate, I found the intellectually stimulating activity I sought in conducting research, yet I still manage to maintain a connection to this aspect of nature through human brain research. I have found the research to be a rewarding experience, allowing me to discover that clinical neuropsychology exposes me to diverse scientific and clinical perspectives while providing a source of intrigue and challenge. As a future graduate student, my goal is to contribute to scientific discoveries that will uncover the mysteries of the human brain using rigorous experimental methods and cutting-edge research and imaging techniques. Although humanity has studied the complexities of the ocean and the vast expanses of space, we are humbled because we know less about the frontier that exists within us than the one that exists beyond us. My interest in neuropsychology began when my uncle was diagnosed with a rapidly developing disease......middle of paper......After completing the program, I envision myself working as a neuropsychologist in an academic medical center . I intend to advance the field of neuropsychology by conducting compelling behavioral and neuroimaging research, while inspiring the next generation of researchers through mentorship, teaching, and supervision. Throughout my undergraduate career, I conducted research that led to a professional journal submission, maintained full-time student status, earned exceptional grades, found time to serve as Psi Chi chapter president, and worked full-time full as a graphic designer and real estate agent. These results reflect motivation, a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a deep commitment to quality performance. Based on my research interests and my strong record of excellence, I am confident that I will be a productive student in your program.
