It was our senior project and was required for graduation. It was the first time I had to write such a long article and I was overwhelmed and scared. When I turned in my assignment I felt a sense of relief knowing that I was actually capable and that gave me confidence. Now I can say that I have grown to have a growth mindset. I think you definitely need a growth mindset to achieve academically. In college you are given assignments, projects and papers and no one will hold your hand and force you to complete them. There are also long classes, boring professors, and stressful topics, and having a growth mindset will help you remember to hang in there and not give up.“One of the dictionary definitions of the verb “to reclaim”: is to take as the rightful owner; assert oneself in the face of contradiction. “To receive” is to come into possession of: to act as a receptacle or container for; accept as authoritative or true.” (Ricco 1) Getting an education means accepting everything that teachers tell us is true and believing it. Don't question anything you are given. Not facing what we know is wrong because the professor tells us it is right.
