Most NPs must seek new positions outside of their current facilities. They must gain levels of confidence in their abilities to function as an NP from physicians and other healthcare professionals. New NPs must establish a new reputation separate from their role as an RN. This creates competition among new NP graduates. Developing relationships with healthcare providers is needed on a new and different level. This process should begin during the NP graduate program. Clinical skills in an NP role should be demonstrated and displayed while performing the required clinical time. It is essential to have networking and marketing strategies to assist in your job search. My strategic and networking plan will involve researching job opportunities posted by employers, joining networking associations, and making direct contact with physicians. There are several sites on the Internet that offer different positions available at different employers. Some of these sites are Monsters, Indeed, Career Builders or direct organizations. Additionally, Linkedin will allow me to publish my profile. This will help identify my credentials and skills to other professionals. All NPs should join a network
