High school is a very important time because it is the time when students begin to plan their lives. I started thinking about my options and where they will take me in life. I'm trying to have the life I've always dreamed of. I want to be able to look back on my life and believe that I was successful. I plan to become a psychiatrist and live in Florida by my thirties. I know there is a lot of work to do to reach my goals, but I believe that with careful planning I can do anything I want. To start planning my life, I need to determine which college I would prefer to attend. My first choice is Michigan State University. To become a psychiatrist, a student must attend medical school for eight years and then focus on psychiatry in residency for four years (Psychiatrists: Summary). After school, most psychiatrists begin their own practice. This is my plan for after college and I hope I can stay on this path. Michigan State University is located in East Lansing, Michigan. There are approximately 50,000 students attending MSU (MSU). The middle 50% of students attending MSU had a GPA between 3.4 and 3.8 and an ACT score between 23 and 28 (MSU). It will cost me about $21,000 a year (MSU). The campus is home to the MSU Museum, the Abrams Planetarium and the Horticulture Gardens. I believe that if I continue to be successful in high school, I can get accepted to Michigan State University. I want to become a psychiatrist. The school for this profession lasts until about thirty years of age. You must earn a passing grade on the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification exam (Psychiatrists: Summary). A student must participate in a four-year internship specializing... halfway through... in psychiatry. He believes that: “If you're interested in it as a field, I think it's really suited to people who like people, find them interesting, like helping people, are empathetic… and find human behavior fascinating.” I can very much identify with the desires that he says are necessary to be a good psychiatrist. I will follow his advice and hope I can make my dreams come true. High school is a very important time because it is when students prepare their plans for the future. I began to consider my options and the path each will lead me. No matter where I end up, I know I will be happy with the choices I made. I know I will be able to look back on my life and believe that I was successful. My dream plan is to become a psychiatrist and live in Florida. I expect a lot of hard work, but I know I will be able to live my life the way I want.
