Friends are your family - Original WritingMya stared at the wall wondering what the next three years would hold for her. Doubts raced through her mind: Would she like her new beginning? Would he find friends as special as his previous ones and, more importantly, finally adapt to the diverse and independent lifestyle here? These thoughts were then disturbed by a knock on the door, followed by the entrance of the mother. Mya jumped up and smiled, trying to hide the worries racing through her mind, hugged and kissed her mother, then watched her leave again. He couldn't show his weakness, not now. It was Mya who was determined to move once she found out that her father had an opportunity for a 3 year internship in an exciting new cheerful city. However, it was only now that he realized how "different" everything was turning out to be. BEEP BEEP BEEP the sound rang through Mya's mind, not allowing her to sleep another second. He turned off the alarm, staring at the ceiling and wondering if he should drag himself out of bed and finally start attending the local high school. As always, if he feared something, he did everything he could to put it off. It was his way of dealing with problems. Mya found it easier to ignore her problems. She'd been through a lot in the past, which is largely why she was aware of who she'd open up to. However, she had no more excuses that her mother could believe for putting off school, so today she had no choice but to finally face her fear. An uneasy feeling arose in Mya's stomach as she walked to class; he looked around trying to find a face it looked inviting, but it was too late, it seemed like everyone had already established their bonds of friendship. The lesson began to drag on, Mya's mind began to wander outside the classroom, as she looked out the window, memories of the old school returned
