Topic > A Brief History of Engineering - 681

When you look around you, you see all kinds of modern wonders. None of these elements would be possible without engineering. Engineering has shaped the lives of humans for thousands of years; it is simply the application of science and mathematics to invent or innovate an object to satisfy a human need. Recently, computer engineering has been the basis of the human world. We rely on computers like it's water or air, and we've gotten to the point where they may be a necessity for success. Computers are used for imaging, data, development, research, design, and much more. The simple fact that humanity has thrived for so long without advanced computers is astonishing. EssayEngineering has existed since the first centuries of man. The wheel is the result of primitive engineering, as are the light bulb and the telephone. Engineering has served many developing countries and helped those in need. For example, prosthetic arms are useful for those who lack the necessary limbs, the Water Wheel created by Wello helps people in developing countries as they transport large quantities of water. Engineering has evolved since the beginning of time. Most engineers have found success through trial and error. Thomas Jefferson, for example, failed many times before creating the light bulb, for which he is now famous. Another popular trial-and-error procedure is the scientific method. Most researchers use the scientific method to obtain a positive or negative result. Nowadays, engineering has been reduced to something less than simple. It's still a long and difficult process, but it's been made much more efficient. More and smaller innovations and inventions are being made. Small, portable, paper-thin microscopes, water wheels, and devices that can view your... paper medium... what the product would look like if Wello decided to turn its water wheel into a water-carrying robot back and forth every day. Wello has a great opportunity to succeed. The water wheel already works well, it just needs more advertising. If more people knew about Wello and its mission, they could go a long way. They add to why engineering is so important. Engineering will advance in the future and Wello is an example of a current advancement. New technologies, robots and devices to help third world countries will help our society and change the world for the better. There are no limits to what engineering can do; everything we thought was impossible is now reality. The fact that universal phasers and translators exist is simply amazing. What humanity once dreamed of can actually become what humanity relies on in the future.
