Animals are held responsible for feeling pain for humans to get the best out of products. People believe that for products to advance, animals must undergo rigorous procedures. Animals endure pain, suffer loneliness and desire to walk freely. Instead, all they can do is sit involuntarily in fear and patiently wait for the next terrifying and painful operation to be performed on them. In most cases, the results are not accurate as humans and animals differ greatly. Considering the limiting factors, I believe human products should be tested for our safety, but without having to harm animals. Animal testing used to aid human development should be kept to a minimum to avoid undergoing unwise and terrifying procedures. Humans violate the rights of animals when they conduct research by giving them no choice but to participate. Animals, like humans, feel, think, and experience pain, so they should be approached with the same consideration as humans. Even though animals are never given the option to opt out of experiments, they are still exposed to painful tests that often cause permanent damage, sometimes death. To test the safety of new chemicals, products and cosmetics, animals are poisoned and killed by forcing them to consume harmful substances. Every year around 3 million animals are used in experiments in British laboratories (Animal Aid). This amount does not include animals bred specifically for use in experiments or animals rejected as unsuitable. If these animals were also included in the annual statistics, the number of animals used in experiments would increase by millions. These innocent creatures must suffer for the sake of human beings. Animal testing has helped improve... middle of paper... it's too dangerous. EpiOcular is a thin layer of skin cells used for further product research without involving animal cruelty such as the rabbit eye test which causes discomfort. Every day new techniques are developed to avoid animal testing and at the same time promote research into common products. Terrifying and reckless operations performed on animals should be avoided as much as possible, and harmless procedures should be more commonly used to provide further research on human products. People should take precautions when obtaining product data by thinking about how the animal would feel. Since the animal does not have a voice of its own, decisions are made for it. The disadvantages of animal testing far outweigh the advantages. Animals are held responsible for the further development of human products while suffering when their rights are ignored.
