For example, the common idea of ​​masculinity often portrays attributes such as strength (both physically and emotionally), as well as holding the title of breadwinner in a household. Likewise, femininity is portrayed with a number of characteristics of its own, such as being a patient housewife. Current examples that portray these characteristics are the advertisements for Swiffer, Old Spice, and Mr. Clean, which will be analyzed later in the article. Additionally, each of these ads has been around for a significant period of time, featuring some changes while maintaining the same generalized core character.
