Firstly, there may be a decline in morale among employees. When jobs and tasks are specialized, there is a tendency to make them repetitive. This can often cause boredom for some employees and therefore also cause dissatisfaction. Employees are judged only on how they perform their primary function, not how well they perform it. With the bureaucratic structure, employees can become passive, abandoned and indifferent to the company's goals. Furthermore, the bureaucratic structure is rigid. The sets of rules and regulations in a bureaucratic structure are often rigid. This causes a lack of initiative and discourages creativity among employees as ideas must pass through multiple levels of chain of command to be recognized and approved. Furthermore, compartmentalization of activities can occur in a bureaucratic organization. Jobs are often delegated to specific categories, which then limits people to doing jobs that employees are actually capable of doing. It also encourages the retention of jobs even when they become jobs
