Paradise plays an important role in describing the state of Hawaii; Furthermore, many are captivated by its promising beauty and various attractions. In 2007, the state received a total of 7,627,819 visitors and the number has increased as time passes; whereas the island of Maui welcomes an exceptional number of 2,580,361 million visitors annually (2007 Annual Visitor Research Report). Additionally, the island chain became known as the most remote landmass in the world and was the last destination to be affected by humans (Turning the Canoe Trailer). Therefore, the islands experience multiple changes and innovations dramatically. For example, the island of Maui has undergone various developments such as hotels and tourist establishments, accessibility to forests, strengthening of home and road constructions; as a result, more and more visitors are turning their attention to the island. But what if all the admirable beauty suddenly disappeared? Residents may experience a great depression and the island's economy will be greatly affected. Therefore, developing more regulations to preserve Maui's coasts, forests, and oceans would enhance its natural beauty and support a more stable economy. Many like to venture into nature and wilderness; thus, Maui welcomes one and all to its lush greenery and breathtaking forests. The State of Hawaii Forest Reserve observes eight forests on Maui and they are designated at: Hana, Kula, Kahikinui, Makawao, Kupahului, Waihou, Koolau and West Maui (Maui and Molokai Forest Reserves). Although several organizations are working to preserve the admirable vegetation, Maui acquires more than two million visitors per year; therefore, awareness of regulations must be well implemented until ... middle of paper ...
