Fast-paced video games correlate with positive development. This is a research paper (obviously) on why video games don't cause violence among teens. Even though video games can be very violent and sexual, it has been proven that they do not cause juvenile delinquency because people who play video games tend to be more relaxed and think logically, many studies have shown this. Overprotecting adolescents can also have a negative effect. Video games might cause outrage in troubled teens, but most teens are normal, and some troubled teens do not have violent tendencies. Troubled teenagers need help and supervision. For many troubled teens, violent and sexual video games will not cause violent acts, other things will, and video games may be a way to express anger. Additionally, if a troubled teen has a tendency to act violently, he or she will most likely act violently without violent video games, plus there are plenty of nonviolent, relaxing video games. Troubled teenagers need more attention, care and help, no matter what. Everyone has their problems, but video games are not the reason for outrageous acts of violence. It has been proven that video games do not cause normal teenagers to act violently. There is no correlation between the popularity of violent video games and adolescent violence—in fact, if there is a correlation, it would be slightly negative. Societies where video games are popular are developed countries with stable economies, good police forces, and high standards of living. Poor countries do not have access to video games and usually have much higher death and homicide rates than developed countries such as the United States of America. In developed countries there are many options and many people available everywhere. Video games can also improve knowledge, learning ability... middle of paper... in normal adolescents they have been shown not to cause juvenile delinquency and can significantly improve cognitive abilities. Furthermore, overprotecting a child can have devastating harmful effects. In the end, I think most video games are very fun and can greatly increase our mental abilities.
