Get Original Essay Self Introduction I am Sansriti Mishra and I did my bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Mumbai University and graduated in 2013. I graduated with honors in all my subjects. I was selected for my first job before I even completed my degree and was chosen by one of America's elite software companies, Oracle, to work with them as a quality analyst. I have always had the propensity to understand the technical management/business aspects involved in every launch of any new product or software technology. This is my goal: to share my transition from a simple software engineer working in India to a management student at Rivier University learning the ethics of business and organizational behavior. In my opinion, this Master will improve my personality and open up new career choices for me as a software professional. Role of organizational dynamics in my past. I started my professional career in the information technology industry in 2013 with Oracle Financial Services Pvt Ltd. The first position I held in the company was the role of a quality analyst and my role was as a tester or problem solver. I tested user interface websites, software technologies, prepared business requirements documents for the project for the client, created documents to track and record defects, and conveyed the correct information on errors found so that these bugs could be fixed by the developers carrying out the testing. software application free of bugs and ready to be used live by users. I was regularly appreciated by my clients and managers because I managed to find important gaps in the projects assigned to me. I worked in Oracle for 2.5 years and gained a lot of technical skills and expertise. I was working for a Japanese bank as my client. Initially my team was small, we were just a groupof three people and then over the next year we expanded to 6 people working for the team. Here I came across one of the most important aspects of organizational dynamics in reality, namely the effect of team size on my project deadline. I realized this when my team was small, we were able to meet project deadlines on time and at the same time we were able to control the budget and costs of the project without any loss of time. I also noticed this while working with my team that they respected my opinions, ideas and we were good listener even though we all belonged to different cultures in India and followed different customs and traditions but we still had moral ethics towards each other 'other. Another organizational dynamic that I experienced while working was that in our company the management team used to conduct surveys for each product technical team where they asked questions from the employees and asked for feedback from the employees which positively motivated the employees to share their concerns and in this way the employees of my company felt more connected and dedicated to their work. This promoted the most vital emotion in employees, the feeling of employee engagement, which is beneficial to the organization as employees work to the best of their abilities. I developed the skills to improve my knowledge and skills in the technical field, I started taking more conference calls with international clients in Japan which gave me an extra edge over other employees. My work helped my project receive recognition from senior office executives and people working offshore on other client websites. The product I was working on was used by the Japanese bank and the application was used by actual customers of that bank. In this way my work has had a substantial effect on people that defines the aspect of task meaning (how important an employee's work is inside or outside the organization) in organizational dynamics. The team I worked with had employees of all ages. I have personally experienced the benefits of working with highly skilled and experienced people who have worked for my company for more than 10 years. They gave me guidance on how to improve my performance over time, what new technologies I should focus on to improve the quality of the project's product, and provided me with valuable feedback from time to time. Thanks to all these factors I was able to work as a multitasker for my project and I won awards for my project. I was able to communicate with people of different generations (organizational behavior challenge) and learned how to develop work-life balance. In my opinion I have found that old employees are more reliable and dedicated to their organization (concept of organizational dynamics). In some scenarios I also expressed some stressful situations when I was working day and night before the product release that created emotional stress for me. To overcome this problem I arranged a formal meeting with my manager and told him my concerns, he listened to my problems and frustrations and provided me with guidance to improve my skills. This shows that effective verbal communication between managers and employees is extremely important for the growth and progress of an organization. I received appreciation from my manager, clients and colleagues, which motivated me to put more effort into my work and increased my self-esteem (Work Motivation (Organizational Dynamics Concept)). When I worked at my previous company, I wasn't aknowledge of the concepts of organizational dynamics. But now, when I think back to my professional days, I realize that every day of my professional life had scenarios related to organizational behavior. My University's Role in Shaping My Career I came to the United States after marriage, after leaving my job in India at Oracle. I've been home for over a year. I started to feel the need to go back to work but I didn't want to go back to my previous field which involved more technical skills. I wanted to become familiar with business knowledge so that I could explore more options in my career field. To further educate myself on this topic, I decided to earn my Master's Degree from Rivier University in Computer Information Systems. In my course I study both technical and business courses. Last term I studied business subjects such as Accounting for Managers, Global Finance for Managers and I am currently studying Organizational Dynamics. All these topics helped me immensely in understanding how a large organization works in a real-time environment, how large manufacturing operations are executed, how a company's policies are established, how qualified employees are retained. Five years later I want to see myself working as a Product Manager for some large product-based companies like Facebook and Amazon. Product manager is an important organizational role in any company that requires the ability to manage cross-functional teams. These managers should have deep product knowledge and possess the ability to make important strategic decisions. All these important organizational aspects I am learning in my current mandate of organizational dynamics which teaches organizational behavior by strengthening its resources and promoting strategic development and better business ethics. Pursuing my Master's degree gives me the opportunity to interact with people from different parts of the world. At Rivier University in my class I have students from countries like Nigeria, Ghana, Canada and therefore I hone my communication skills which will help me in my future profession where effective verbal communication (organizational dynamic concept) is important to achieve goals. Ultimately, after my master's degree, I hope to see myself as a person who can face any type of life circumstance with high motivation, enthusiasm and greater emotional stability. Challenges/Opportunities in my current conditions The work scenario for the product manager position is very competitive. A product manager is a person who is involved from the conception of an idea to its actual implementation. Includes responsibilities to research and analyze information on product development, target customers, core product market, research licensing issues, ensure product safety, and continually motivate the team to perform at their best, with a effective verbal/non-verbal communication with the team. I still lack the skills required in this section. I gave a few internship interviews for Product Manager positions and received this feedback from employers that I needed to improve my non-verbal communication skills such as body language (organizational dynamic concept), my decision decision-making skills (strategic decision making), my pressure management skills (emotional stress). I still have two semesters left to complete my Master's degree and I firmly believe that whatever time I have left, I will learn new aspects about the culture of the organizational environment in real time every day and will ultimately emerge as a successful Product Manager professional.
