The total ban on corporal punishment, necessary for discipline, at home is implemented by only 60 countries, including the Philippines, which still leaves more than 91% or 600 million children still vulnerable. Violence doesn't just happen at home but also at school and in the community. Violence affects children in places where they should feel safe and among people they trust (UNICEF, 2017, UNICEF-IRC, 2018, World Health Organization (WHO), 2016). Say no to plagiarism. Following the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which ended in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were launched last January 2016 which included ## goals for sustainable development to be achieved by 2030. Among these SDGs are is a goal to protect children from any form of abuse or violence, SDG 16.2 “end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence and torture against children” (Sustainable Development Goals, 2016). Various social campaigns have been launched to address and raise awareness about violence against children. Popular among these is the social media tag #ENDViolence, widely used and promoted by partner institutions in the End Violence campaign. In collaboration with UNICEF, a popular South Korean boy group, Beyond the Scene or BTS, founded the Love Myself campaign. The partnership built aims to educate, raise awareness and raise funds to support stakeholders or children affected by violence around the world (Love Myself, 2017; UNICEF, 2017). The research suggests further educating stakeholders and the public about campaigns and violence against children and adolescents; thus, the study's stimulus to further understand and support the claims. Along with the popularity and influence of South Korean culture in the Philippines on Filipino youth, the study generally aims to understand how BTS's influence influences the knowledge, need for knowledge, attitude and practice of respondents in the Love campaign research Myself. Social CampaignCampaigns, as defined by Lamb (1997, cited by Raab and Rocha, Campaigns to End Violence Against Women and Girls), is “an organized effort to exert public pressure on institutions and individuals to influence their actions. “Campaigns generally aim to raise awareness, inform, educate, influence behavior and promote change in the target audience and society (Raab and Rocha, 2011). Campaign approaches are divided into two types depending on the purpose of the campaign. The first approach is to influence behavior, while the other is to gain public support. Social campaigns, on the other hand, both apply, attract attention and raise public awareness to gain support, which must be followed by change. in theirsbehavior towards the issue and their implementation (Raab and Rocha, 2011). According to Atkin and Rice (2012) in their publication “Theory and Principles of Public Communication Campaign”, public communication campaigns are: “…intentional attempts to inform or influence the behaviors of large audiences within a specified time period using an organized set of communication activities and presenting a series of messages mediated across multiple channels, generally to produce non-commercial benefits for individuals and society. "Social campaigns, which are based on the principles of marketing and advertising with the help and involvement of such principles, achieve their objectives to the target audience and the general public through the use of various media (e.g. print, audio, multimedia) (Raab and Rocha, 2011; Atkin and Rice, 2012). Therefore, it influences voluntary behaviors, aiming at the development of the ethical and social well-being of the target audience and society (Hersfall, Bromfield and McDonald, 2010).It does not necessarily target only a specific audience, but aims to spread social awareness among everyone (Hersfall, B, et. al., 2010). to the duration or period of time in which the campaign should achieve and maintain its objectives, as well as the theme or purpose defined by the local context (Raab and Rocha, 2011). According to Raab and Rocha (2011) the key elements of social campaigns are the following: be based on an understanding of the topic and its purpose; should promote ethics relevant to its topic; includes strategic campaign planning; careful planning of the campaign strategy or course of action to achieve the campaign objectives; translate the strategy into activities relevant to the theme; tracking and analyzing data as the campaign progresses to the end to ensure its effectiveness; and financial management to improve efficiency and security from mismanagement of funds. In summary, social campaigns are a universal process involving a communication system and processes with the aim of attracting social support and achieving one's goals and stakeholders to achieve a common goal of social good and well-being (Atkin and Rice, ; Raab and Rocha, 2011; World Health Organization (WHO), 2006; Violence against children and adolescents Violence is any form of abuse, neglect or negligence, deprivation, threat, harm, mistreatment, torture or exploitation. done in physical, emotional or psychological terms to any individual, done in public or private, which happens to every single member of society (World Vision International, 2017; WHO, 2009). Violence against children and adolescents is of growing concern due to its long-term effects on the individual and society which could hinder development (Sustainable Development Goals, 2017). According to research statistics, there has been an increasing prevalence of violence among children and adolescents which includes nearly one billion children and adolescents affected by violence (WHO, 2017; UNICEF, 2017). Research ( ) shows that violence in children and adolescents occurs in places where they should feel protected and safe: at home, at school and in the community to which they belong, among people they should trust. Common violence at home and school includes punishments that involve discipline (UNICEF, 2017). Violence at home and school also presents as sexual abuse, bullying, and school attacks (UNICEF Innocenti Research Office, 2017). 1 in 3 students, between 13 and 15 years old, suffers violence at school through acts of bullyingperformed by other children. Violence also occurs through online platforms where children are exposed to other forms of violence and even exploitation (United Childrens Fund-Innocenti Research Center (UNICEF-IRC), 2018). Violence against children and adolescents in the Philippines A survey conducted by UNICEF showed that there is a high prevalence of violence among Filipino children, with 80% of participants interviewed saying they had experienced violence. 76% of these were physical violence that occurred in their homes. Boys experience more physical violence than girls (UNICEF PH, 2016; Cerejano, T., 2016). There is also the prevalent case of online child sexual abuse. From 2008 to 2013, an increase in the trend of sexual violence against children and adolescents was observed. These include sexual exploitation and abuse both physically and through virtual means, which occur more frequently in girls than boys (UNICEF PH, 2016). Violence among Filipino youth is due to poverty, culture of silence, fear of reporting, and ineffective enforcement and enforcement of laws (Cerejano, T., 2016). (table of laws here) Effects of violence against children and adolescents Anti-violence in children and adolescents Various international institutions came together in 2015 and founded the Global Partnership to end Violence Against Children to put an end to the problem of violence against children and adolescents. The Global Partnership to End Violence against Children aims to “end all forms of violence against children by 2030” (Global Partnership to End Violence against Children, 2015) in response to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.2 “end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence and torture of children” (Sustainable Development Goals, 2016). Various research ( ) has defined that violence prevention begins with education and community involvement in the movement. #EndViolence is the social media tag promoted by partner institutions, including UNICEF, to address stakeholders and the general public on social media. As the most used mode of communication at the moment, #ENDViolence tag is generally used to promote and raise awareness of anti-violence campaign through social media.Love Myself CampaignLove Myself is a campaign founded by a Korean label, Big Hit Entertainment and the his artist group Beyond the Scene (formerly Bangtan Sonyeondan) or BTS, in collaboration with the Korean Committee for United Children's Fund in response to the growing statistics of the rate of violence and self-harm among adolescents and children in South Korea (Korea Times , 2017) and due to the growing worldwide popularity and demand for the South Korean popular culture boy group BTS. The partnership was established on 1 November 2017 to promote, sponsor and fund UNICEF's #ENDViolence campaign. The campaign with its slogan "Love Myself, Share Love" aims, according to its official web page with the web address www. love me. org (2017): educating local communities about violence and prevention; gain support through active promotion on social media; and raise funds to support UNICEF's #ENDViolence campaign. The Love Myself campaign uses the social media tag #BTSLoveMyself, and social networking sites such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, to promote and raise awareness of the campaign. The Love Myself campaign launched with the BTS World Tour: Love Yourself concert produced by record label Big Hit Entertainment on August 24 in Seoul, South Korea, and will continue with a world tour for the rest of the year. On September 24, BTS participated in the74th United Nations (UN) General Assembly and launched “Youth 2030: The UN Youth Strategy” with the corresponding “Generation Unlimited” campaign (UNICEF Twitter account, 2018). The #ENDViolence campaign, mentioned above, is a UNICEF campaign with the goal of “creating safe and healthy living conditions for the world's children and adolescents” (love-myself.org, 2017). Korean Pop CulturePopular culture trends have been and continue to influence our lifestyle, even every aspect of our life, including our style, even our goals and our life. The variety of popular culture was passed on to subsequent generations. As defined in William Tuk's master's thesis (2013), popular culture can take the form of any type of print, leisure, or multimedia and contains a country's culture produced for a large number of consumers. At present, the popular culture that holds the hearts of most teenagers and even that of older generations is Korean popular culture or especially known as the Hallyu wave. Hallyu, as understood and witnessed by many, is not just everything about Korean music. Several academic researches (Chua, B.H., 2010; Kim, H.M., 2005; Shim, D., 2005; Tuk, W., 2013) have stated that the same explanation and understanding Hallyu, from the term hanryu, was first used in Chinese media recognize it as the boom and rapid spread of Korean entertainment and influence. At present, it includes various products from cosmetics, to tongue, to cooking, etc. The Hallyu wave began to conquer Asian media since the mid-1990s. Even before the Hallyu wave, the art, architecture, tradition and music are already evident and preserved in the history, up to the present day, of Korea. The media that ranked high are none other than Korean dramas. Through the beauty of their artists and relatable storylines, it was easy to capture the audience's attention; a sudden increase in demand for this form of media has been evident across East Asian countries. Those in particular from Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan have been included in the growing calls for this type of pop culture media (Dator, J., Seo, Y., 2004). The sudden increase in demands for Korean pop culture led SM Entertainment's CEO, Lee Soo Man, to create another trend from SM's first boy group and former HOT. This rise of male and female artist groups and their music collectively known as K-Pop, paved the way to fame and is now known globally with over 6 million fans worldwide (Tuk, W., 2013 ; Shim, D., 2005; Salmon, A., 2013). Teenagers and a few simple numbers of adults have grown deep into the wave with the help of the entire world wide web and broadcast media. The growing popularity of boy and girl groups has brought the name Hallyu with it to the music charts. Music, in particular, has made the most of its popularity and trendiness. Various Korean entertainment companies join the competition between music and fame. YG and JYP Entertainment, undeniably, are one of the pioneers who brought Korean pop music to life and joined the competition (Tuk, W., 2013; “SM, YG, and JYP Entertainment's Casting and Trainees System,” 2012). Korean Pop Culture in the Philippines Halyu's influence and immense popularity have not remained isolated only in East Asia and various parts of the continent, but have spread throughout the world. Many broadcasting companies have started adding Korean dramas, variety shows, and reality shows to their prime time. The Philippines is included among the many countries affected by the Hallyu wave (Alanzalon, S., 2011). The Philippines is oneof the countries with the most fans of Korean pop and culture. For this reason, various Korean cultural organizations have been founded to respond to the still growing number of enthusiasts such as the Korean Cultural Center (KCC), Philippine K-Pop Convention, Inc., etc. PKCI is the leading and largest Korean pop group cultural organization in the Philippines that organizes Korean pop culture events and the largest annual Korean pop year-end event known as K-Pop Convention or KCon. Framework of the Study The study will use the contagion theory of Bergman and Gladwell, the theory of reasoning Action and the two-step flow theory of Lazarsfeld and Katz. Contagion TheoryFamily violence is a common type of mistreatment or abuse suffered by a child or adult by an immediate family member or someone with whom they have an intimate relationship. According to the article, family violence refers to women being abused by their husbands leading to the death of the victim (Roberson & Wallace, 2016). The victim, in this case, is Lida Maria who is believed to have suffered physical abuse before being killed by her husband Manuel. According to the series of events, I feel that Lida and Manuel had family problems that they are trying to resolve and in the meantime a conflict broke out. The two started arguing and ended up suffering physical abuse which led to Maria's death. Controlling anger and solving family problems in a sober state of mind is one of the significant lessons that can be imparted from the article. Although family violence involves children, women and men, in many cases women are the victims followed by children. How common is this form of family violence? Family violence is a common and globally experienced abuse. Abuse occurs in many forms, including physical, psychological, financial, emotional, and sexual. The form of violence presented in the article is physical abuse. Physical abuse involves causing pain or injury to the victim through the use of force (Heise, 2018). While some forms of family violence may be uncommon, physical abuse is depicted as a recognizable and more common form of abuse. It is reported as a common form of abuse as it involves major and minor injuries such as kicking, slapping, shooting, choking, and stabbing, among others. After reading the article, I realized that physical abuse can happen anywhere and at any time of the day. According to the article, Lida Maria suffered physical injuries before being shot dead by her husband Manuel. I believe that creating awareness about ways to deal with anger can reduce the occurrence of physical abuse. Dealing with the perpetrator Family violence is a criminal activity and should be prosecuted in court. Different states have different laws governing court procedures if a case of physical abuse is reported. The incident narrated in the article occurred in the capital of El Salvador on a wealthy San Salvador estate. The police arrived at the crime scene and found Manuel next to his wife who was holding a gun in her hand as a sign of suicide. However, the police were not satisfied and suspected that Manuel was involved in the murder. Manuel was arrested, an investigation was immediately launched to determine the cause of death (Stephen, 2013). The article states that the perpetrator should be charged with murder and possession of an illegal weapon. However, in this case, investigators did not present sufficient evidence to the court, thus allowing the suspect to be released. From the way the investigators behaved, I noticed that some government officials do not carry out their duties conscientiously. Dealing with the Victim The victim of any form of abuse requires a
