Topic > Renovating My Foreclosed Property - 1200

If I were able to acquire $150,000 in cash to repair and renovate a distressed foreclosure property, I believe I would be able to update and renovate the home in a way that would increase it by ten times the value of the property. I was fortunate to be born into a family that has inherent knowledge about how to fix and what to do. My father is a sculptor and has numerous tools and machines that I could rent for much less than those at a hardware store like Home Depot or Lowe's. My mother is a broker who would be able to tell me which inspectors to turn to for advice, and would also be able to help me get the best results with the least expense. My older brother has been my father's apprentice for as long as I can remember. He traveled with my father to foreign countries to help him with his art installations and also began sculpting on his own. Both my father and brother have taken welding courses and have this, in addition to the extensive construction knowledge that my father began his career with. My other brother also worked for my father, in addition to working full time at a hardware store as a manager, and has now started being a handyman for some duplexes and has been able to start and complete remodeling projects on small scale that I came across his way. To begin renovating my foreclosed property, I would begin with a complete inspection of the property to properly evaluate the property's final needs and other cosmetic fixes that I may be able to correct. After performing the invasive inspection, I would sit down with my renovation team to analyze what needs to happen first. Luckily, I have two bro... half paper... go to home depot and look in the clearance paint sections because a lot of people like to return paints and I could get them for 1/3 the cost of buying them brand new paint. I couldn't buy too much paint, but this could cover at least the bathrooms, and possibly the kitchen. I would paint the rooms myself to try to reduce the costs of hiring painters. I have been painting for as long as I can remember, I have been on construction sites so I understand all the steps to properly paint a house. I think the most time consuming part of the renovation would be to bring the gardens back up to par and make them as green as I would like them to be. With all this in mind, I believe the renovation could be done in a month and a half, if everything goes according to plan and nothing is delayed due to mail or travel times.
