As I said before, farming is a challenging task especially because you need to plan and budget for the long term. We had to set aside money every year in case a crop didn't perform as expected. Both Mom and Dad are great examples of strategic planning. Observing and helping mom calculate annual and monthly expenses helped me to be an independent person. Dad always translates vision into reality when it comes to crops. I admire the way he can see the result and work hard to achieve it. When he says that we are planting two acres of tobacco here and that we should produce this amount and that our profit should be around this amount, he is truly a talent. This is a trait I am working on as a leader. My goal is to be able to lead my team to success by turning long-term goals and vision into quarterly successes. Being responsible for your land and your farm seems easy, but not always because of government crop regulations. Depending on the crop there are some guidelines to follow which dad always took time to learn about the advantages of the new changes and adapted quickly. Change management is an I characteristic
