Personal Plan When creating a leadership development program for a company, it must have an authentic vision and clear, achievable goals that align with a business strategy (Donnelly, 2010 ). To be an effective global leader, there are certain developmental goals that will ensure that global leadership concerns for the future are managed as required. Goals include developing new business models to help cope with the expansion that may result from globalization, enhancing the growth that results from globalization through increased productivity, and finding new ideas for managing the increased growth of the economy. The various action steps include brainstorming, developing business models, increasing productivity by increasing the number of employees and increasing the variety of products to handle increased growth. The action phases are related and build on each other. The realities of globalization, with increasing emphasis on emerging markets, present business leaders with enormous challenges in developing the leaders needed to manage global organizations. (George, 2012) In preparing to write this document I took the Global Leadership Inventory found in appendix (A) of this document to see how well prepared I was to be a global leader. The results are included at the end (Appendix B). I would suggest giving all leaders an evaluation similar to this to see how well prepared the person is to be a leader. If the results are not to your liking, I would recommend the company develop a plan to train them in the areas where they are weak and help them strengthen themselves to become a global leader. The program could range from two to six months of hands-on education and training. Leading by example has taken on a whole new meaning and has caused leaders to step up their game to help future leaders grow and become ready to fill their
