Blackface Mountain and Cheviot sheep. We produce lamb for slaughterhouses and also supply lamb to local butchers. This can sometimes prove to be an expensive undertaking for us as we only have a small farm and most agricultural projects tend to favor large farmers. We have a stable on the farm and this is rented to a local livestock farmer. We also produce silage in the form of bales. We sell most of them because we wouldn't need them. Practices: There are many sustainable farming practices and some of these are in place on my farm. Reducing soil erosion is one of the most important practices on my farm. Soil is the most important non-renewable resource on any farm. Healthy soil is essential for a good harvest. We spread sheep and cattle stable slurry and fertilizers such as 10-10-20, 0-7-30 and Selinigrass + Se on the ground to try to improve the quality of the soil. A river flows through some of our land and this is a problem especially when herbicides and sewage are spread.
