By submitting homework the teacher adds additional stress to herself because she in turn has to grade the homework, handle parent complaints about the homework, grade any tests or quizzes taken, and prepare lessons for the next day. After all her grades and preparation, she has to make time for herself and her family. This is a lot, having all of this on the plate absolutely does nothing but create more stress for the teacher. This stress can build up and, in turn, cause the teacher to have a stress-related injury that forces her out of school for a while. From my personal experience it is very difficult for students when teachers come in and out of the classroom due to illness. So here too we see how simply adding tasks can lead to harmful effects
