Topic > Rhetorical Analysis of a Letter from Birmingham Jail

King agrees that denials are an impressive approach, but elaborates on their current unavailability as the issue is simply ignored. For this reason, King argues that nonviolent actions aim to “create a crisis and establish such creative tension that a community that has consistently refused to negotiate is forced to confront these issues” (King). Here, King acquiesces to the public opinion to negotiate and add the real facts in order to justify the reasons for doing it his way. The public can be made to reason and agree that their actions are the most appropriate approach by supporting their decision by arguing that the community denies paying attention to the cause and that nonviolent protest has a huge impact.
