Today's society provides us with the same false information. There are many prejudices and distorted perceptions of events happening in the world today, yet we place our trust in what we are told. The media is driven by materialistic things like money and popularity, so the truth gets pushed aside and sugar coated. There are also many negative aspects on the Internet as the world can be a bad place, but in the media we see more ideology than reality. Yes, the lack of censorship has its harmful effects as we cannot control the thoughts and feelings of others, but this liberates the suppression of our rights to speech and freedom. We all have the same rights and freedoms and freedom of speech is definitely overlooked. If we truly have freedom of speech, then why can we only say what society wants?
