Throughout my life, I have sought to search for answers beyond my own personal experiences and sought to help others as they ventured into their own strange territories of learning. Inquisitive and inquisitive, my bespectacled four-year-old face was always pressed into a book, poring over and learning more about the world. I have accumulated hundreds of books that I have read repeatedly, giving me a boost to my learning process, one that few others have had. Every time I discovered something new, I continually struggled to unravel every web in it until I figured it out backwards and forwards. This great affinity for reading was only surpassed by my ever-growing passion for computers. A subtle introduction to the world of computing via educational games uncovered a world of vast proportions, which I am still exploring to this day. My childhood interest was initially intrigued by the bright, flashy colors and interaction I had with the game, but once I discovered the world outside the game, the world the game was built on, my perspective on technology it has changed. From that point on, every time I got a new electronic gadget, my first instinct was to go through every last menu and option back and forth until I could basically do it again. At that point, however, the scope of my exploration was limited to a left and right click, my computer skills were at their most basic levels. I was able to quickly understand complex computer and literary concepts that would not be expected of a child my age, and once I learned it, I made sure to share it with others. While the children struggled to read while a teacher pretended to support them, I made sure to help my friends and push them along the way. Lots of friends at school t...... middle of paper......ay. After thinking about what skills I should contribute to the community that not everyone had access to, I realized I should put my computer skills up for auction. Older members of the community rushed to sign up for a class, or a consultation for their specific technology needs, and I gave it to them. There were so many people bidding, I had to make a couple more stops than I had originally planned. Not only did I feel a sense of accomplishment, but I felt happiness knowing that I was able to give back to the community as much as I could. As I have grown and matured, I have seen that technology, computers, and the mindset that comes with becoming familiar with technology has shaped much of my life. Whether it's a greater understanding of logic and mathematics or acquiring the skills needed to tutor and consult others, technology has influenced many of my life decisions.
