Having a solid ethical foundation that accompanies a person throughout their career is a rare but invaluable resource. People tend to vary their personal beliefs based on financial progress. Every wrinkle in the ethical foundation deteriorates it until the foundation is no longer solid. Starting with a solid foundation and ending with only one says a lot about a person's character and personal integrity. The ability to address conflicting ethical issues with a strong advocacy based on research and consultation is an important lesson to learn. In most cases, people simply give up to avoid conflict or express their concerns uniformly and/or thoughtlessly, taking away their credibility and influence. A leader must be able to tactfully address concerns, regardless of their current situation
