The airline industry, being the fastest means of transportation, plays a vital role in the Nigerian economy in multi-faceted dimensions. As noted by Jacobson (2004), air operations have several dimensions namely, firstly, they enhance globalization and increase economic cooperation between nations. Subsequently, it facilitates the international movement of goods, services and factors of production. Third, it creates its impact by directly providing employment opportunities and indirectly by creating opportunities for the travel and hospitality sector of an economy. “Jobs at hotels, resorts, restaurants, and rental car agencies, to name just a small portion of the economy, depend to varying degrees on the health of the airline industry” (Jacobson 2004). Last but not least, the airline industry has an impact on other sectors such as manufacturing and tourism. The advent of technological advancement and globalization has revolutionized the workplace and the global economy respectively. This has rapidly transformed the global economy which continues to shape the modus operandi of globalized trade liberalization. Hence the crucial need to diagnose and examine the issues and challenges related to using computing platforms as tools in the workplace to improve performance and productivity respectively. Therefore, investments in attracting, retaining, developing, and motivating competent employees could drive organizational development growth to gain competitive advantage and facilitate business survival. However, the computerized reservation system has become a hindrance rather than promoting organizational goals and objectives respectively. So, this is one of the bane of airline operators in less developed countries… it helps improve revenue and also improves administrative operations of airlines. Therefore, one justification of information technology is that it ensured that information was regularly disseminated in order to comply with openness, better enlightenment and the use of information management respectively. The proliferation of the Internet, as a major means of communication and as an infrastructure for airline operators' activities and commercial transactions, has generated a wide range of strategic implications for the aviation industry in general, as well as for the transport and tourism in particular. Hua and Khalil, 2006). Furthermore, looking into computerized reservations would create awareness about the need for technology that enabled availability of information, cashless transactions, minimal contact with potential passengers, etc..
