Topic > Analysis of what real education should do by Sydney Harris

But I think in some classrooms it has gotten worse. I think part of the problem may be that teachers lose their passion for teaching. I could be wrong, but it seems like some teachers take the material they are supposed to teach, stick it in a PowerPoint for us to take notes on, and then expect us to regurgitate it on a test. They do things like that instead of fun activities that really make us think and discover new things in our mind. Even though this is just a hypothesis, this article really made me think. I found it interesting because we are in the critical thinking unit and that's exactly what we should be doing. We are meant to think about things, analyze them, synthesize them, and then think about them again until we finally arrive at our conclusion. I think this was the main point of Harris' article. We discover our true feelings and knowledge when we search for them in our mind, and then create something with our unique ideas. Sydney J. Harris did a great job with this article and I really enjoyed reading it, then getting into my mind and writing about it
