As an industry, healthcare is currently working to create larger data sets, interoperability, and user interfaces. These technologies alone can improve the information and data set collection process. Looking back at the case studies completed this semester, even if full interoperability is not achieved, data mining, federated databases, and data harmonization allow researchers to extract information from multiple sources without compromising patient safety and privacy. This would require standards, a basic framework and user participation, resulting in uploaded datasets that can then be used for research in different ways. Finally, the data used for existing studies were conducted in highly populated areas, not providing much information about rural areas or areas where access to health care is not as readily available. To truly work towards the overall health of our population, it is necessary to analyze underserved populations so that hopefully, through population health goals, they can receive optimal access and
