During the Cold War arms race between the United States and the Soviet Union, which has now been split into several countries such as Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania, it was about, as Charlie Sheen likes to say "win!" But winning in this context depended as much on public needs as on control of territory and people. The perceived success of one lifestyle over another was just as important as the various other races the United States and the Soviet Union were running. The fact that so many political moves have been described as competitions, games and battles of spectacle and mutual reinforcement speaks for itself. During the Cold War there were a series of relays with very specific objectives: the arms race, such as the nuclear one, and the space race. These were the key objectives that needed to be achieved by arriving before the other country. Much of the achievement of these goals was not based on reality, but on the values created by the public. More than any other war, this one is surrounded by propaganda and its mark on public opinion.
