Teenagers need to be taught that driving is a complex and demanding task. Parents know how much experience a young driver has and know exactly how inconvenient it is to have to drive with their children everywhere while they have permission. Teenagers tend to cause the majority of car accidents in the eyes of adults. They are not yet experienced and often do not pay attention to others on the road. They often think that a car is some kind of toy, but they don't know how powerful it is. Driver education programs need to be strengthened to ensure that students truly have safer habits, experience behind the wheel and better understand all traffic laws. The course gives teens a better understanding of the safest driving habits to maintain. For example, some time ago a young man died in an accident due to a bad habit: the driver was driving while intoxicated. As stated in one newspaper, "Alcohol involvement among fifteen to twenty year old drivers involved in fatal crashes, in 2003, the number of survivors was 4,227, and the number of fatally injured was 3,657" (Best, 663) . Therefore, the numbers continue to increase every year and it is a recurring problem that can be solved immediately. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (2001), “although a 25% reduction in alcohol-related deaths was observed between 1990 and 2000; approximately 41% of all traffic fatalities (17,448) in 2001 were alcohol-related” (Sarkar, Andreas, and de Fabrio, 306). This is why more motivation is needed to have designated drivers. Drinking and driving is a problem that can be solved immediately. It could not only ruin your own life, but also the lives of others.
