Tablets are touchscreens, so they don't have a built-in keyboard. Without a built-in keyboard, tablets make it difficult to do in-depth research, take notes, and write essays, because not everything is mobile-friendly. Tablets were not created for doing schoolwork. They were built for entertainment purposes such as gaming, limited Internet use, and watching TV shows, videos, or movies. The final reason I prefer laptops to tablets is cost. As the next college student, you will experience the obstacle of always being broke. By buying a laptop, you save a lot of money. The price of laptops usually starts around $200 and varies depending on the brand you buy and the amount of storage you need. By purchasing a laptop with a high memory capacity, you are essentially buying more storage for free. Tablets, on the other hand, are very expensive. By purchasing a tablet, you are wasting your money that could be earmarked for your books or other college necessities. Tablet prices depend on how much storage you think you'll need for school. The usual starting price for a 16GB laptop, depending on the brand, is $500. In other words, you're buying more storage for more money, when you should be saving. As I said earlier, extra storage isn't an option with tablets
