“Lar Surtana”. The metal bars disintegrated. Gilbert stood back for a split second staring at his mother and father who didn't want to get close to him. “Sorta Encantada,” whispered Gilbert. His parents' robes twisted around them as their faces transformed into people he didn't recognize. His hand dug into his bag. He was ready to cast another spell. "Inat Surpass!" he said. Once again the wand's coils struck the woman and man before him, ripping away the gray rats that inhabited their bodies. The two fell to the ground shaking. A handful of silkworm threads flew from his hand onto the pair. The wires wrapped around the bodies and then attacked the mice. “Lar Surtana,” he spoke again, turning the two little gray mice that fell out of it to dust. “This way,” Geebs' little voice called to Gilbert. "Who were Essi? They looked like my parents before I killed them," Gilbert said. "That was Dane Whitney, a friend of Frank Porter and Nancy, a flight attendant at the airline. She is Carter's mother. They were replaced by the Changelings... the changelings took their place once they were brought here," Geebs replied. Another cell with what looked like his father. “Gilbert,” the man said. “No, you are not my father,” Gilbert shouted. “That's Trunk's brother, Bark,” Geebs said. "Prod was right. Now I can smell your stench," he said. The man moved out of Gilbert's path and, in a crouched position, took out his new wand. “Aresto,” he shouted. The gems on the wand exploded with light forming a fisherman's net, sending it flying towards Gilbert. Gilbert ducked but the net remained attached to his back like a magnet to metal. It began to tighten. He couldn't remember the spell Orson used against the lasso when they ran away from Prod and Bark while they were in the dumpster. He panicked, with... middle of paper... heard in his head. "You filthy smelly boy," Prod said, reaching over to grip Gilbert's shoulders through the hypnotic blast. Gilbert stiffened. Vomit seeped from Gilbert's nostrils as if he had a runny nose. He sneezed. "Inat Surpass," Gilbert coughed, sending Prod into the air and slamming him into the wall. Prod trembled violently and his wand began to glow. “Reparo Redudant,” Gilbert shouted, emerging from the hypnotic smoke. He rose up and struck violently. Smoke came out of his mouth. His lungs cleared. The smoke quickly died out and the walls around him shone as if they were brand new. The pictures of his parents, Trunk and Orson, as well as his sister were gone. York crawled away now as his body began to heal from Gilbert's spell. He spoke in an incomprehensible way. Gilbert couldn't hear his words. Gilbert's mind was focused on the Prod forward.
