Another problem that started to appear on the scene around this time was with the comic book industry. The comics industry was having a hard time staying on the same page with women and their new desires. It seemed like the comics industry was more anti-feminist than actually supportive of women. Comics needed to really think about this issue and didn't want to trigger a huge problem that would cause both the male and female population to lose sales and interest. They decided to come up with another strategy. During the Golden Age era, the comic book industry had funny animal storylines that resembled genre characteristics. They would have small voice roles for females to play the mother, daughter and lover of these animals. This made a small start with women in comics. Around the 1940s comics were on to something when they started collaborating with more progressive minds like DC Comics who thought women should start making an appearance instead of just having their voices heard. The comics industry has decided to create storylines of heroism by including women as heroes. This was only done to pacify the women and not to make it seem like the women were threatening male power.
