The FDA is partly responsible for this so-called addiction. Research has shown violations including unauthorized nutrition claims and unauthorized use of terms such as “healthy” (Rosenberg & Feder, 2014). Food companies and food producers mostly operate for profit, not always with the best interests of consumers at hand. Every individual is and should be responsible for his or her own actions. What a person does and doesn't put in their mouth, the amount they eat, and what type of food all have to do with the individual. Every single adult has choices and it is up to them to make responsible choices. Food addiction is a huge problem nowadays. Children look to their parents and other adults as role models, so it is extremely important that adults eat properly and get the proper help they need if they show signs of food addiction. Obesity among children is at an all-time high and it is up to adults to lead the way and set an example for them. Addiction to anything is a difficult scenario, whether it is drugs, alcohol or food, addiction I believe is addiction. I believe both nature and nurture play a role in addictions. However, with the right resources, professional help and willpower, I truly believe that anyone can overcome and defeat a problem
