Topic > Conflict in e-learning - 1405

Introduction Working on an e-learning project requires various staff members with different capabilities working together on a project. Therefore, communication is necessary between teammates. People have different needs, preferences, opinions, beliefs and values. As suggested by Wall Jr & Callister, R. (1995), the definition holds that: “conflict is a process in which one party perceives that its interests are opposed or negatively affected by another party”. When they contact each other to work on projects, they may not accept each other's decision. This causes conflicts to occur between them. While some conflicts can be helpful in making decisions, in most cases they can cause stress, loss of trust and unhappiness within the team. Conflicts not only affect staff, but cause an organization to waste time managing unnecessary conflicts that indirectly cause low productivity. Workplace Challenge In the SAF, traditional teaching methods are slowly being replaced with the integration of new mobile technologies to develop cadets' capacity and ability to learn beyond pedagogical changes for competent performance in the third generation operational environment . The project team's main aim is to manage the conversion of existing learning material from traditional paper notes and books to digital copy for e-learning purposes. The project involves interacting with different staff and providing different inputs to create the learning material. No matter what phase of development the team is working on, there will be a tendency for the team to face some form of conflict among themselves: Common conflicts that the project team would face are as follows: (1) CR-scoped projects. ..... middle of paper ...... sister, R.
