He touched hearts and had a positive impact on the lives of many people. It also made Disney famous all over the world. Today there are Disney theme parks in Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo. Along with the famous Disney Land in California and the famous Disney World in Florida. Walt was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5, 1901. He was the fourth born of 5 children. Walt's father; Elias, abused his children and was a very severe man. When Walt was nine years old, the Disney family moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Walt liked it there because they moved to a farm. At this point he loved drawing. He enjoyed drawing farm animals and the house they lived in. One day, when Walt and his younger sister Ruth were home alone, Walt put black tar all over the side of the house and taped up his Esso drawings. When his parents returned home, Walt's father was not happy at all. In addition to getting in trouble at home for drawing, he also had problems at school. He never paid attention in class, he just sat at his desk and drew. When Walt drew his pictures, he did it the way he wanted. “Walt still liked to draw, but he liked to do it his way. Walt Disney was not alive to see the finished product of Disney World. It opened in 1971. Walt died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966. He was only 65 years old.
