During International Education Week, the Foothill International Program held a film event titled The Fight to Forgive. Professor Hansell suggested I attend this event because she knew I would enjoy doing this extra credit assignment. I'm so lucky that I don't have classes on Friday, so I can attend this event. Also, this film is about refugees, the topic I learned about in this course. On November 22, 2013, I went to the Appreciation Room, where the event took place. This event started at noon. At the beginning Mrs. Largent spoke briefly about the significance of this event. Later, I saw that the director and one of the refugees from the film were also in the room, which impressed me. After the briefing, the film began playing for approximately 90 minutes. The film is about six boys, born in Liberia, forced to become child soldiers during the civil war in Liberia. The reason I say they were forced is because the commander said in the movie that those kids had no choice but to be kidnapped to become child soldiers. Being a child...
