Topic > Educational Blindness - 862

It is critically important that the United States implement immediate measures to ensure that positive, proactive change within the education system, both locally and nationally, begins now. Clearly, what is being done right now is not only failing, but is actually failing immeasurably and plunging an already failed system to all-time critical levels of irreversible damage. Our greatest asset, our young people who are our future, are the ones who are being sacrificed and this is becoming threatening and is becoming much more acute because of our inability in the world to defend education. Nearly all educators agree that change needs to happen immediately, yet there are too many people in power who are simply turning a blind eye to the issue. This is not acceptable for the future of our children and for the future advancement of the social and economic growth of the entire country. It is intrinsically clear that through quality education, positive socioeconomic change can begin to take root. Education is even more imperative for children who come from poorly educated families. These people must strive to overcome poverty. Furthermore, monetary values should never influence access to knowledge or dictate a person's success in future endeavors. Nonetheless, money still influences people in making decisions, and blindness occurs when people do not understand the value of what a quality education can do for them. Education is more than just teaching, but it is the knowledge and wisdom gained that moves America and other countries forward. However, because of money, education becomes an afterthought. This should not be the case; money shouldn't be an issue, and people should proactively... middle of paper......and who's to say education reform could solve the problems, if at all. However, it is critical that appropriate reforms are implemented quickly as time passes and the United States can no longer continue to turn a blind eye to the glaring failures and changes that need to be made. The root is that children deserve a better education: we all seem to agree on this point, but as long as one side or the other is blind to factual information, then tragically, real education reform, or any form of improvement to secure our position in the world, then, the reforms will simply not be implemented and our education will remain at a standstill. For the good of our entire society and everything we stand for, it is imperative that we come up with a plan that takes our country forward and gives our greatest asset, our children, a bright and positive future..
