There are many positive and negative aspects that social media has on our society. In this essay we will take a look at social media locally in our country and globally in other countries around the world. Is social media a good or bad thing in our world today? This is probably one of the most frequent questions we are asked every day. There are really two views that our society has on social media. There are people who think that social media is advancing for the better and serves as a revelation that will forever change the way the world will be. Yet, there are others who seem to believe that social media has a serious negative impact on our society today. Let me start with the simple positive effects of social media in our society today. Social networks allow us to have great friends and build incredible relationships. Social networks were born as a common place to connect with friends in an easy and quite simple way. If I can be honest, many people have found old friends back in the days when you might have been in high school or even college. Or perhaps a younger teen found their uncle on a social networking site they hadn't seen in a while. There are many who actually praise social networks for allowing them to connect with family members they don't see very often and long-lost friends they haven't been able to talk to since high school or college. .
