In a university setting, instructors use different techniques to educate their students. They have academic freedom, where they can teach however they like and this leads to the use of swear words in the classroom. While teaching, swear words are thrown around during class. We live in a society with people who apply swear words as part of their language on a daily basis. As a result, students do not mind when an instructor uses it while teaching, but there are some who may be religious and find it offensive. I believe that instructors should not apply profanity in class because it shows a lack of professionalism, should be a role model, and is disrespectful to different religious beliefs. As college instructors, they not only dress professionally but also act like it. Their professional skills should be able to create a good learning environment.
