In our fast-paced society, technology is constantly evolving. This has led to technology always being at our fingertips. On an average day, many people depend on computers for their skills; including police officers, small businesses, Wall Street, and even the average recreational person. Without Charles Baggage's invention of the first mechanical computer in 1822, our society would not be where it is today. It has been noted that the computer is the most powerful technology that societies will ever have.1 The first computer was made up of nearly 4,000 different parts. Measuring approximately seven feet tall and 11 feet long, it doesn't even remotely resemble the compact computers we have available today.2 As a result of the first computers, large design rooms had to be adapted to its large size. The functions of early computers were designed simply to perform calculations that included the addition of very large numbers. Computer invention and technology have not only improved and advanced our society; but it has also developed a variety of new technologies along with its advances. These advances include software capabilities and Internet access. The computer has also had a great impact on cultural and social changes over the decades resulting from the invention and technology of computers. One of the major advances made available since the invention of the computer was computer software. Computer software is known as the computer program that works in conjunction with the computer hardware, known as the physical computer. Computer software and services can be classified into three different sectors. Each of the three computer software and services for the most part... half of the paper... try in the Internet age."
