This document will identify which of the Kolb learning styles best suits me and why I think so. It will also provide some examples from my past and present to support these findings. After determining the learning styles best suited to me and completing an inventory exercise, I concluded that I learn best by using audio and visual techniques in the learning process. I agree with everything this exercise has brought to light. I never knew these styles were what I learned with. I have also included examples of how I see the use and benefits of these learning styles in my career. My Learning Style After examining the Kolb learning styles, I have decided that the style best suited for me is a cross between Easygoing and Divergent. The Kolb online learning inventory, which I participated in, gave me an almost equal score in both areas. It was surprising how accurately these styles describe how I learn. The description associated with these styles was exactly how I perceived myself. Easygoing individuals are individuals whose strength lies in pursuing projects and experiments and engaging in new experiences. They are risk-takers and excel in situations that require quick decisions and adaptations. In situations where a theory or plan doesn't fit the facts, they tend to discard it and try something else. They often solve problems instinctively by trial and error, relying heavily on other people for information. They are easygoing with people but are sometimes perceived as impatient. Their educational background is often in practical fields such as business. They prefer jobs such as teaching, marketing or sales. In conclusion, my learning styles can become strengths in my more focused career in much the same way that they have already benefited me by allowing me to deal with all kinds of people in different situations and to find creative ways to resolve problems and complaints, I suspect that I now know what my own learning styles, organizational ones, are. the interpersonal ones my skills will improve. Now that my learning styles have been defined, I will be able to apply them to the difficult tasks I have had and will have in my career.
