A prioress is the leader of a group of nuns. She is described as very tidy and polite. He sang beautifully and spoke French. The kind of French he spoke was not the kind of French spoken in Paris. Chaucer also describes her as clean and friendly down to earth. She is rich, which goes against the church's belief that being rich is a sin. Proof that Chaucer is interested in the Prioress because he took the time to write a correct description of her compared to some of the others that Chaucer didn't like as much. However, Chaucer notes that even though she is a well-rounded individual, she does not follow the church's orders to be poor. People he didn't like included The Friar and The
