This is why this play is still so relevant today, because any reader in the world can open his heart to a tragic love story. It simply was and remains one of the most widespread and successful plots in the history of writing. The love seen between Othello and Desdemona is rare. At the beginning of their marriage they are happy as always and it is seen that they both respect and love each other deeply. They love each other so deeply that it can honestly be said from the literature that they would never do anything to hurt the other. This deep and infinite love, however, is exactly what stands between them. Othello was so easily manipulated by Iago because of the sincerity of his love for Desdemona. He was so afraid of losing her to someone else that he was willing to remove her from the picture entirely. An amazing aspect of this play, which serves as an inspiration to people of all generations, is the fact that Othello and Desdemona still loved each other with everything they had even when their relationship was at its lowest point. Othello repeatedly states his love for Desdemona and how she is probably the only person in the world who could bring him down like this. Just as Othello is killing her you can sense how upset he is by the situation. He doesn't want to kill her because of his love for her, yet he does it because he does
