There have been many kings and queens over the centuries in the world. Some remain today, such as Queen Elizabeth of England. Rulers, as some called them, were seen as public figures and in some cases even as gods. Some were even considered cruel beyond belief, one ruler was even nicknamed Bloody Mary because of how cruel she was. The ruler I will talk about is that ruler's cousin, but her name is Queen Mary of the Scots“She was the only surviving daughter of King James V of Scotland, who died when she was 6 days old making her fall in the line of succession to the throne (“Mary I” 1 Britannica).” “At the age of 5 her mother saw fit to send Mary to France, where she was raised at the court of King Henry II. “Mary's education was not neglected and she was taught Latin, Italian, Spanish and some Greek. French now became her first language, and indeed in every other way Mary became a Frenchwoman rather than a Scot” (“Mary” 2 Britannica). Even though he wasn't with his parents and an uncle, he still received an amazing education. Many times royal families tend to fight against each other in fear that the other will keep the throne. Queen Mary was a Scotsman but because of the way she was raised she became a Frenchwoman, which I find interesting. Everything from how her uncle raised her instead of her mother. “With her extraordinary beauty, with her tall, slender figure, her golden-red hair and amber eyes, and her taste for music and poetry, Mary epitomized the contemporary ideal of the Renaissance princess at the time of her marriage to Francis, firstborn of Henry and Catherine, in April 1558. Although it was a political match aimed at the union of France and Scotland, Mary was sincerely...... middle of paper...... and Corona. Queen Elizabeth considered Mary a dangerous threat to her position, so she was on trial here. Even though she was the queen of another country, she was still persecuted by the English court and convicted and later executed in 1587. Queen Mary of the Scots lived an interesting life starting from the death of her father when she was only 6 years old until her execution in at the age of 44. Many people can discuss her reign and how she was unjustified or justified in her actions on how she ran her country. I believe she was a misunderstood woman whose family screwed her over and she had to suffer the consequences of her family's bad actions towards her country. Having grown up in France, she was not suited to rule Scotland as she had grown up with a different outlook on life. This is what led to her downfall and execution at the age of 10 44.
