Throughout the play Romeo and Juliet, one of the main protagonists, Juliet, is forced to face a large amount of conflicts, whether external or internal. Juliet is in conflict with many people who exclude herself, such as with her father, her mother, with her nurse... Likewise, on many occasions she is in conflict within herself. Juliet's internal conflicts are evident throughout the play, especially when she says "My only love sprung from my only hate! Seen too soon unknown and known too late! Prodigious birth of love is to me, who must love an enemy hated”. This quote comes from the first act, immediately after meeting and kissing Romeo at the Capulets' banquet, she had asked the nurse who Romeo was. She then explained to Juliet that he was a Montague quote, (My only love sprung from my only hate) means that the only person he truly loves, Romeo, comes from the only person he was raised by his family to hate, Montague, meaning Romeo is The son of Montecchi.
