Musculoskeletal pain generally occurs due to injury, infection, or overuse/exertion. This is generally characterized by muscle tenderness, weakness, limited range, stiffness and decreased nerve conduction velocity.²Here, we wanted to analyze musculoskeletal pain among female school and university teachers. They have various jobs ranging from lecturing, checking homework to boring computer work. All these are the reasons for increased pain in the neck, shoulders and back. University teachers have to hold long hours of standing classes, while high school teachers have more stress and workload as they have to cover large curricula, including competitive exams. A woman has to manage the entire house by taking care of the elderly and her children. And being a teacher definitely adds to the healthy workload. While men, on the other hand, are not at all active in household chores, which demonstrates the difference in workload between the two sexes. Women also undergo various hormonal changes in the body and many times musculoskeletal pain is one of the symptoms NEED FOR STUDY - we will arrive at an estimate of the percentage of female teachers with chronic pain who appear to be severely handicapped by their pain at any given time and the extent where pain can lead to disability. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES –To study and compare musculoskeletal pain among school and university teachers and correlate the intensity of pain and disability. The METHODOLOGY cross-sectional study was conducted to evaluate musculoskeletal pain complaints among 35 school and 35 university teachers in the age range of 25 to 45 years. years in Delhi and NCR region.
