Personal Project is a project that every 10th grade student must design and exhibit at the end of the process. All students chose different types of projects that were meaningful in their different areas of interaction. The project I chose to do is create special effects that often appear in films. My area of interaction is human ingenuity. Special effects were created by man and are widely used in today's world. I choose to focus on the process of learning the actual process of creating the special effect so that I can create my own at the end of the process. I could have also concentrated on the area of communication. For example, running an EA or workshop teaching others how to create their own special effect. But I chose to focus on the human ingenuity part because I'm more interested in the process and the outcome. Teaching others might also be challenging, but I want to master the craft first. I chose this topic because I am very interested in films and the filmmaking process. I've already shot a few short films and felt there was still a lot to discover. I helped my friend shoot a 15 minute movie in G8 and there were no special effects in the movies. Although none of my family members are related to this topic, they support me with my interest and sometimes give me some little advice. After watching more films and reading more materials, I developed some interest in special effects in films. I also watched some Youtube videos before starting my project. I watched some short tutorials and found that some effects are very easy to make and look great and realistic. My original goal was to create a documentary, PPT, or essay on the evolution of special effects from 1980 to 2010. After a while... middle of the paper... effects are pretty easy to make. So the things that have changed my decisions are mostly related to the sources I can find. Some sources also informed me about what types of effects I should do as a beginner. I developed many techniques in my investigation, I understood how Adobe After Effects works and how to create effects in it. I also developed some research skills. Especially when it comes to the selection of sources. When I browse Youtube videos. I also learned something about making videos. I have watched more than 40 different tutorials in my personal project process and have noticed many interesting things. The videos that got good comments all had a slow pace. The tutors spoke slowly and clearly and clearly demonstrated each step. The videos with negative comments were all very fast paced and didn't describe things clearly.
