IntroductionVoting is a political freedom of many law-abiding citizens of the United States of America. In today's culture, there is a widespread belief that young Americans do not vote and, as a result, have the lowest voter turnout among citizens. This research will discuss the voting behavior of young Americans in relation to their older counterparts. Given that young people represent 21% of the eligible voting population, they need to understand the importance that their participation in voting has for society (CIRCLE, 2010). Young Americans are slightly disengaged from the political world and tend to vote less often than older voters. However, this disconnect from politics does not exist because they are not interested in political practices. Probably, voter turnout is lower among young people because there is a lack of political awareness. Young adults are not adequately targeted during election seasons and lack the tools necessary to be considered an informed voter. This research asks the question: What factors cause youth voter turnout to be the lowest among U.S. citizens?...
