Dr. Condoleezza Rice was sworn in as Secretary of State on January 25, 2005. She is a clear example of a leader, possessing certain characteristics that have brought her to where she is today. To evaluate her as a leader, it is necessary to examine several aspects of her leadership. It is important to examine his personality traits and values, the ethical challenges he will face, his candidacy, his leadership style and his dark traits. The first way to evaluate her as a leader is to look at a detailed description of what she thinks her personality and values ​​are. Condoleezza Rice was born into a family disciplined in life and religion. Generations of his family span from college-educated teachers, preachers and lawyers. His parents were highly respected in their communities. His father was a Presbyterian minister and his mother was a music and science teacher. Condoleezza was born in Birmingham during a time when African Americans struggled to receive a college education. Because Condoleeza Rice worked hard and excelled during her teenage years, she had the opportunity to attend college. The Rice family was known to be “dedicated to cultivating a strong, confident child by exposing her to all elements of Western culture, including: music, ballet, foreign languages, and athletics” (Strobel, 2005, p.1-2 ). Rice's grandmother stated, "Condoleeza has always been very focused, ever since she was very, very young" (Strobel, 2005, p.1-2).
