Anxiety is a common mental illness in the United States, which Kim Krisberg discusses in her article “Anxiety: A Normal Response That Can Feel Overwhelming. The cause of anxiety is mentioned in Peter Crostas' article "What causes anxiety?" Crosta also explains treatments for anxiety in his article, "What Are the Treatments for Anxiety?" In Kim's article he talks about anxiety and what it is, he states that it is a normal feeling that we all experience at some point in our lives. It states how there is bad and good anxiety. Good normally keeps us motivated and protects us even in dangerous situations. Not so good anxiety is when your worry gets out of control and becomes overwhelming. Kim speaks to licensed psychologist, Simon, Rego, says: “Anxiety is good at the right levels and under the right conditions. We need it. It pushes us to focus our attention and think about behavioral solutions to the threats we face. But it's when it's like a pot overflowing that it's bad." Sally Winston, founder of PsyD and co-director of the Anxiety and Stress Disorder Institute, also provides examples of anxiety and anxiety disorders for Kim's article. “If I'm worried about having a cavity and having a workable plan, that's normal and productive.” (Winston) “But if I cannot tolerate uncertainty, if I go back and forth on unanswered questions, If the worry is excessive and unproductive, then it is a sign of a disorder.” (Winston)Peter Crosta wrote a article in which he explains the different causes of anxiety. The first is environmental factors: stress resulting from work, school, personal relationships and life domestic can cause anxiety. Another is... middle of the paper... mental symptoms. All of these articles have the similarity to anxiety, however, each article touches on a different topic that has to do with anxiety three authors are trying to educate their viewers about anxiety, rather if they have it, or need to know if they have it. In conclusion, both authors Kim Krisberg and Peter Crosta provide excellent articles on anxiety Help to educate viewers on what it is, the causes and treatments.
